Seven stages, endless kilometres of gravel and an unforgettable adventure through South Africa’s Karoo region. For Clara Koppenburg, the week was a test of both legs and character. She made a strong start to her campaign, but a crash on Stage 2 – which left her with a torn ligament in her left hand – threatened to derail her race. Giving up, however, was never an option. Showing impressive grit and determination, Clara continued to fight, securing five Top-5 finishes, including a third place on one of the stages.
Her consistent performances throughout the week earned her an outstanding third place in the General Classification. A hard-earned podium after a wild ride through the Karoo, and a week that proved to be about much more than just racing.
