Lennart Jasch Scores Tudor Pro Cycling’s 50th Victory
Five months after claiming his first professional victory at the Tour of the Alps, Lennart Jasch has done it again. The 25-year-old German took a powerful solo victory on Stage 2 of Il Giro d’Abruzzo, delivering a major milestone for Tudor Pro Cycling: the Team’s 50th victory in just four years.

Stage 2 presented a demanding 143-kilometre route through the heart of Abruzzo, featuring 2,700 metres of elevation gain and a tough uphill finish. A six-rider breakaway formed early in the day, but with the Team focused on protecting GC leader Mathys Rondel, the front was brought back with 16 kilometres to go.
The race looked set for an uphill sprint, but just one kilometre later, another attack went clear. Lennart was called into action to close the gap, and a front group of three, including the German, quickly established a 20-second advantage over the chasing bunch.
With the finish approaching, Lennart waited for his moment. Just before the flamme rouge, he launched his attack, going solo and opening a decisive gap. From there, he held his advantage all the way to the line to claim his second professional victory.
Still processing the result after the finish, Lennart struggled to believe what he had just achieved. “I can’t believe it. Seeing my name at the top of the finish order here in front of me is amazing. It was an incredible day. When the attack happened at 15 kilometres to go, Mathys told me to follow it. At first, I thought it was just about closing the gap and then getting back to him, but then we stayed away. I didn’t know if I was the strongest in the group, so I decided to go solo and waited for the right moment. It’s crazy.”
The victory marks Lennart’s second professional win, following his Stage 2 victory at the Tour of the Alps in April. It also adds another chapter to his strong connection with Italian roads. “After the stage and GC win at Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, and this year’s stage at the Tour of the Alps, my fourth victory in cycling also comes in Italy. It looks like I’m a great racer in this country, and I hope that brings luck in major races in the future.”
For Lennart, the result is also another sign that his transition from speed skating to professional road cycling is moving in the right direction. The German spent years competing on the ice before making the switch to cycling. “The differences in tactics are quite big, so it was not always easy to learn, but I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by people who teach me a lot. The Team was super strong today and placed us in the top position at the bottom of the climb. Considering it’s my second pro win this year, I believe the switch is going well.”
The Team leaves Stage 2 with more than a milestone victory. Mathys Rondel retained the young rider classification, while both Lennart and Mathys now sit second and third respectively in the general classification.
“Today we probably took the maximum we could. When playing for the stage, I hoped I could take the GC as well. Winning the stage, Mathys retained the young classification, and with both of us sitting second and third in GC, we have a good scenario for the upcoming days.”
With two stages still to come, the Team heads into the remainder of Il Giro d’Abruzzo with multiple cards to play.
