The opening half of the race was steady, with Tudor Pro Cycling taking responsibility early and keeping the breakaway on a short leash. With around 80 km to go, the action ignited: when Nils Politt attacked, Alaphilippe followed, and a five-man group set off in pursuit of the leaders. By the 45 km mark, more riders bridged across to form a 12-man front group working smoothly together. On the penultimate climb, Tadej Pogačar surged, slashing the gap and forcing the leaders into a fierce fight for survival. At the start of the final lap, just seven riders remained out front, including Alaphilippe, clinging to a slim 20-second advantage.

The decisive moment came on the last climb. At 1.4 km from the line, in the steepest section, Alaphilippe launched a blistering attack. He powered clear and held his effort solo to the finish, raising his arms for a landmark win.

“This is huge! Such a special win!” Alaphilippe said at the finish line. “The GP Québec is a race I have always wanted to win. I was never better than 6th here, but today was the right day. I felt really good since I jumped on the bike in the morning.”

The Frenchman also underlined the importance of this milestone with his new team: “Since joining Tudor Pro Cycling, we have been chasing a win at every opportunity. I was close a few times, and this victory is the confirmation of all the good feelings I’ve had here. Seeing how my teammates worked for me today was so special.”

He admitted the winning move wasn’t premeditated: “This was not at all in the plans, that’s why I didn’t collaborate too much when I found myself in the front. The goal was to wait as long as possible for the finale. But since we were always racing at the front of the peloton, I ended up there when Nils attacked.”

For Alaphilippe, the win marks both a personal resurgence and a defining moment for Tudor Pro Cycling, proof that the team has the firepower to contend on WorldTour terrain.
