Just one week after the Road Elite Championship, our Devo Team lined up in Austria for the U23 National Championship - a unique race awarding titles for four countries: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. With four Swiss riders and one Luxembourgish rider in our lineup, the objective was clear: bring home both national champion jerseys. Mission accomplished.

The race featured a 156 km route, consisting of five 31 km laps and totaling 1,800 meters of elevation - not only the route was demanding, but also the tactics of racing four races in one. The team plan was to send riders into the early break while keeping Robin Donzé and Arno Wallenborn protected as our leaders.
As expected, the opening lap was intense. Around kilometer 40, a breakaway of 10 riders formed, including our own Diego Casagrande and Joël Tinner. The break gradually thinned out, entering the final lap with just five riders. The peloton began to close the gap, with Robin and Arno in prime positions, but it wasn't quite enough to contest for the overall race win.
Diego held strong in the break and secured 3rd place overall. Robin and Arno surged from the peloton to take 5th and 7th respectively, while Joël - caught before the finish - rounded out the top ten in 9th place.
When sorted by nationality, Diego claimed the Swiss U23 National Champion title and will proudly wear the white-and-red cross jersey for the coming year. Robin took silver. Joël narrowly missed the Swiss podium.
Arno, as the first Luxembourgish finisher, secured the Luxembourg U23 National Champion title, joining Arthur Kluckers - Elite Champion - as a flag bearer for Luxembourg.
