Gallery: Giro Next Gen

Giro Next Gen has always been a proving ground for cycling’s rising stars — a stage race where athletes under 23 get a first real taste of what it means to race day after day, test themselves over grueling terrain, and chase success across eight intense stages. For many, it’s just a glimpse of what the pro ranks might one day bring — and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

Starting this year’s edition with just five riders, our Development Team knew we were in for a tough week. The 2025 route was anything but forgiving: after the opening prologue, no stage ended in a bunch sprint. Breakaways ruled the flat stages, and only the strongest GC contenders could survive the mountains. With teams limited to five riders, controlling the race became a near-impossible task, making every day unpredictable — and exciting.

The GC battle was tight until the very end, with the overall winner crowned by just 12 seconds on the final stage. While the team did not secure a stage win or podium, Arno Wallenborn’s 4th place on Stage 5 stood out as a solid performance. More importantly, the team showed heart, unity, and determination through the highs and lows.

It wasn’t the race we hoped for on paper. But in terms of experience, growth, and lessons learned — it was priceless.
