Tour de Romandie: A Week of Grit, Setbacks and Resilience

The week at our Home race began with a clear objective: aim for a Top-10 in the General Classification by committing fully each day and leaving the race without regrets.
The prologue on Tuesday set an encouraging tone. Yannis Voisard and Marco Brenner both finished within the Top-15, only a few seconds behind the overall contenders, positioning the Team well for the days ahead.
Wednesday brought an early setback. Yannis was affected by allergies that developed into chest pain, costing him significant time in the GC and reshaping the Team’s ambitions. At the same time, Marco Brenner began to develop symptoms of illness, which limited his performance after the strong start.
What followed was a response defined by resilience. Racing on familiar roads, Yannis regained momentum and showed his level in the mountains. He finished 8th on Stage 2, 6th on the Queen Stage, and 8th again on Stage 5. Consistently among the best climbers, he concluded the race 13th overall, a result that reflects both his determination and the opportunities lost earlier in the week.
In parallel, Roland Thalmann found himself focusing on the mountains classification. Present in the breakaways of Stages 1, 2, and 4, he accumulated 51 points through sustained effort and tactical awareness. His consistency was rewarded with victory in the classification and the white and blue jersey in a demanding WorldTour field.
The week in Romandie was marked by grit, setbacks, and resilience.
