The Tour de France in Numbers – Through the Eyes of Tudor Pro Cycling

Everyone knows the numbers of the 2025 Tour de France: 3,338.8 km of racing, 51,550 meters of climbing, 186 riders from 23 teams, TV broadcast in 190 countries, incl. 60 live , millions of viewers and spectators, 13.7 million fans on social media. But what does that look like… for one team?


Let’s go inside the numbers of Tudor Pro Cycling’s first Tour de France, and reveal the scale, logistics, and human effort that powered our 2025 debut.

 

PEOPLE


At the core of everything: the Team

  • 8 Riders

  • 30 Staff on site daily, from soigneurs to chefs, sports directors to mechanics and more

  • 37 Total Staff rotated across the 3-week epic.

Whether on the bike or behind the scenes, the Team was a mobile crew, rebuilding itself every day in a new town.

MOBILITY: 17 VEHICLES


Racing the Tour is a rolling operation. Tudor moved every day with a convoy of 17 vehicles, including:

  • 1 Team Bus – the riders’ recovery sanctuary

  • 1 Mechanic Truck – home to dozens of bikes and parts

  • 1 Kitchen Truck – nutrition prepared fresh, every day

  • 2 Storage Vans – logistics, matresses

  • 1 Fridge Van – hydration and recovery essentials

  • 2 Race Cars – in the convoy, radio in hand

  • 6 Support Cars – for feed zones, comms, route recon

  • 1 Hospitality Van – for partners and guests along the route

  • 1 Time Trial Van – tailored for the clock-battles

SOIGNEURS IN ACTION


When it’s 35°C and riders are pushing the pedals, everything counts:

  • 3,500 Bidons prepared

  • 200 Musettes passed in feed zones

  • 50–80 Ice Socks daily on hot stages

  • 6L of Slushies prepared ahead of each hot stage

  • 25 Rice Krispies Treats daily — quick carbs before the start

  • 2,200 Gels + 1,300 Bars planned across 3 weeks

Here are our the numbers of our top finisher in the Queen Stage between Vif and Courchevel (171km and 5,450m of elevation gain), Storer burnt :

·        5,452 kcal (in the stage)

·        55g carb intake (131g/hour)

·        4l fluid

·        7,200 kcal (during the day)

 

 

RECOVERY AND DAILY LIFE


  • 8 Mattresses + toppers for consistent sleep

  • 4 Air Purifiers for fresher hotel recovery zones

  • 10–15 Laundry Loads a day for riders and staff (race kit, clothes, towels, etc.)


 

MECHANICS AT FULL POWER


Flat tires, crashes, mountain stages, time trials : mechanics have to be ready for everything and so never rest.

  • 32 Road Bikes : BMC Teammachine R 01 and Teammachine SLR01

  • 16 Time Trial Bikes

  • 56 DT Swiss Wheelsets

  • 8 Spare SRAM Groupsets

  • 80 Meters of Handlebar Tape

Every stage starts with hours of preparation: washing, checking frame, parts and torque, tuning or changing drivetrains and ends with just as much work.


 

MARKETING


Fans matter. Every cap, card, and sticker helps bring them closer to the Team.

  • 6,000 Tudor Pro Cycling Caps handed out

  • 1,000 Card Packs

  • 1,000 Sticker Sets

At every start village and finish area, these little details create lifetime memories, turn spectators into supporters and hopefully this will also inspire younger people to pursue careers in cycling.
