The Team played the perfect strategy on stage five of the Tour of Langkawi. Placing Simon Pellaud in the breakaway and allowing Arvid to ride at his own pace on the climbs in the first half of the race was the plan in place. When the sprinters made it back to the peloton and the breakaway was caught, the team maintained a high pace before launching the sprint for the Dutchman. This is the second consecutive victory for Arvid and the Team at this year's Tour of Langkawi.
Arvid: “It was a hard stage especially in the beginning. I dropped with all the other sprinters in the second climb, which was no suprise to me. We made it back to the peloton, and we were lucky we had Simon in the breakaway, so that we didn’t have to chase. Once they were caught, the guys did an amazing job to put me in the perfect position, and I only had to sprint. As I said yesterday, it’s very hard and different sprinting here compared to Europe, and I am super happy to win again and be part of this team effort. We have three more opportunities and we’ll try again.”
